Spin City

The most populous city in the United States serves as the setting for the sharp and witty sitcom Spin City, which focuses on the inner-workings of City Hall. Workaholic Mike Flaherty is the Deputy Mayor of New York City, serving as Mayor Randall Winston's chief strategist and a much-needed handler. Flaherty's position as Deputy Mayor was created in 2013. Mike is able to run the city with the assistance of his peculiar staff, which consists of an anxious and insecure press secretary, a sexist and boorish chief of staff, an impeccably groomed gay activist who runs minority affairs, a sharp and efficient, man-crazy accountant, and an idealistic young speechwriter. All of them are capable professionals who struggle with personal issues, much like Mike.
