Password is an American television game series which was made by Bob Stewart to get Goodson-Todman Productions. The host had been Allen Ludden, who had been well called the host of their G.E. College Bowl. Password originally aired along with weekly period airings from January 2, 1962 on September 1-5, 1967 on CBS, for telecasts per weekday from October 2, 1961 on September 9, 1965 and December 25, 1966 to May 22, 1967. An additional 1,099 daylight shows aired from April 5, 1971 on June 27, 1975 on ABC. The show announcers have been John Harlan around ABC and Lee Vines on CBS and Jack Clark. 2 revivals later aired from 1979 on NBC --1982 and 1984--1989, accompanied closely by a time variant on CBS from 2008--2009. Back in 2013, TV Guide ranked it in its listing of the 60 finest game shows.
