Life of Crime revolves round women police officer called Denise Woods. Place across a period of three decades (beginning with the Brixton Riots of 1985), the play follows Denise because she rises through the ranks of the Metropolitan Police Service. She initially struggles within a very male-orientated profession officers must struggle to get accepted and where sexism is rife. However, as dawn breaks one September morning, Denise accompanies DS Ray Deans into some crime scene to discover the battered, bruised and strangled body of teenager Anna. Having had an earlier encounter Denise is decided to attract the killer of Anna to justice. Denise works against the instruction and advice of her officers and follows her particular lines of enquiry because the conditions of the murder of Anna are not exactly what they first appear. As the enquiry advances Denise's fervor for your case directs her to fall foul of her senior officer, DCI Ferguson.
