Icons was a TV show on G4 that originally focused in world of game titles on significant individuals, organizations, products, history, and milestones. It was relaunched in 2006 and focused entirely on popculture. It was cancelled afterwards. On May 10, 2006, it was announced that Icons was re-launching on June 3 with an episode focusing on J.J. Abrams. The show will comprise a broader scope on people and things"men 18--34 worry about, respect and emulate." Episodes will focus on The Onion, Marc Ecko, and Family Guy. This shift in format had been suspected, due to this recent incidents about George A. Romero, Frank Miller and the history of this King Kong franchise. The video game themed episodes continued to air on the network sporadically before 2008, under the name of the administrators.
