Swing Shift

In 1941, America Kay and her husband are content with their lives until he enlists after the attack on Pearl Harbor. Despite his objections, his wife accepts a position at a local aircraft plant, where she meets Hazel, a singer who lives across the street. The two quickly become strong friends, and together with the other girls, they become increasingly skilled employees. As the war continues on, Kay eventually falls in love with her trumpet-playing foreman, and life becomes increasingly complex.
