Dog Jack

"Dog Jack" is the narrative of a slave boy and his dog who flee their master's plantation, join the union army, and are forced to confront their old master on the battlefield. The story is inspired by the true-life experiences of the Pennsylvania 102nd's beloved mascot, who was so highly regarded by his regiment for his combat abilities that he was twice traded for a Confederate prisoner of war.
