April in Autumn

April returns to Toronto after spending several years traveling and working overseas to assist her sister Sara in caring for their ailing mother. April's return actually unearths long-buried family secrets that threaten the home's delicate balance. Sara, who is studying the music of French composer Erik Satie, befriends a homeless guy named Erik, who may have a connection to her mother's romantic past, while April is undecided about a marriage proposal from her long-distance partner, Oscar, whom she met during her travels. The story climax on the eve of their mother's birthday supper, when Oscar unexpectedly returns from Argentina and Sara's homeless buddy attends the party.
