Afonya

The 1975 film by Georgi Daneliya"Afonya" was a surprising business hit USSR. The major personality"Afonya" Borshev is a plumber, who also spends his life partying with"buddies", a lot of whom he doesn't even remember after nights of heavy drinking. His wife leaves him, his boss places him on probation, his whole life is falling apart, but he does not know it. Afonya met with Katya yet did not pay her attention. However she is the one, who are able to save him... In this picture Daneliya achieves a great balance of satire and drama. Quotes from the picture gained a cult status in USSR.
