Pacific Rim
After legions of gigantic monsters, known as Kaiju, started rising from the ocean, a warfare began that could take millions of lives and also absorb mankind's resources for decades on end. To combat the Kaiju, a particular kind of weapon was invented: gigantic robots which can be controlled by 2 pilots whose heads are secured at a neural pathway. But the Jaegers are demonstrating defenseless in the face of the Kaiju. On the brink of defeat, the forces defending humanity don't have any choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes--a washed-up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an undercover trainee (Rinko Kikuchi)--who've been teamed to induce a legendary but apparently obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stay as mankind's last hope against the apocalypse that is mounting.
