Pim lives in a house at a street somewhere on the Flanders coast, with his mum Yvette Bulteel. Life here smells of cheap cigarettes French fries, vermouth and beer. Mother Yvette uses her friend Etienne, with his lousy gray Fiat, as a motorist for those nights she needs to"perform". Pim fantasies of a better life, imagining beauty queens and princesses. But when Pim turns 16 he fantasies of Gino, the handsome boy next door, as an alternative. Ever since they were children there was this tension between them. Gino is the motorcycling hero of Pim. Little humiliations cold mockery and also pieces of hope earn up the everyday own life of Pim. Of course he flees to his fantasy world.
