The Crystal Maze
The Crystal Maze was a British game Series, shown on Channel 4 in Britain between 15 February 1990 and produced by Chatsworth Television and Also 10 August 1995. There was one series each year, with the first four chain presented the last 2 and by Richard O'Brien from Ed Tudor-Pole. Each show was just only one hour .
The series was intended to be described as a British remake of the programme Fort Boyard. However, that the unavailability of the collection of this French show led British producer Malcolm Heyworth to reinvent the series, with zones being a means to hold the series brand new.
The series is set in"The Crystal Maze", which features four different"zones" set in many phases of space and time. A team of six contestants take part in a series of challenges to be able to win"time crystals". Each crystal gives the team five seconds of period indoors"The Crystal Dome", the centre piece of this compilation where the contestants take part in their own final challenge.
The maze has been the size of 2 football pitches and cost # 250,000 to develop. That the series was probably the most watched regularly attracting between 6 and 4 million viewers. In 2006 and in 2010, the series was voted"biggest UK game series of all time" by readers of UKGameshows.com. This website refers to the programme as"a highly-ambitious, high-risk series that repaid handsomely."
