Love & War

Love & War is a American television sitcom, which aired from September 21, 1992. The series starred Susan Dey as a Chicago restaurateur Wally Porter, along with Jay Thomas as Jack Stein, a sportswriter with whom she'd a on-again, off-again love. After the primary season, however, the series was retooled and Dey was dismissed by the producers of this series, claiming that she and Thomas had"no chemistry" together. Annie Potts replaced her as Dana Palladino, who bought Porter's restaurant and became a love interest for Jack. The first season featured minutes when Jack deal with the camera directly and or even Wally will break the fourth wall , generally using it as a chance to discuss a emotional tragedy. This mechanic has been dropped in later phases. 1 episode featured a guest appearance out of Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David as themselves, they did so as a"thanks" to creator Diane English for allowing a quick scene on Murphy Brown in a episode of Seinfeld where Kramer is cast as the titular character's secretary. The show's supporting cast included Joanna Gleason, Suzie Plakson, Joel Murray, Charles Robinson and Michael Nouri. John Hancock, who had a recurring role as a judge on L.A. Law using Susan Dey before, portrayed bartender Ike to its first half of season , until he died of a heart attack from late 1992. His departure had been written to the show and he had been replaced with actor Charlie Robinson.
