Lights Out
Lights Outside was an American classic radio method, an illustration of a network show devoted to terror and the supernatural, pre-dating Inner Sanctum and Suspense. Versions of Lights aired from January 1934, occasionally, on networks to the summer of 1947 and the series made the transition.
At a set of 4 specials, produced and broadcast, NBC Television brought Lights Out to TV Back in 1946. NBC asked Cooper to create the script for its premiere,"First Person Singular", that can be told entirely from the viewpoint of an unseen murderer who kills his obnoxious wife and winds up being executed. Variety gave this very first episode a rave review ("definitely one of the very most breathtaking shows nonetheless found on a tv screen"), however, Lights outdid become a regular NBC-TV series before 1949.
