Lead Balloon
Lead Balloon is a British television series produced by Open Mike Productions for BBC Four. The show was made and can be co-written by comedian Jack Dee and Pete Sinclair. It celebrities Dee like Rick Spleen, a comedian whose entire life is plagued embarrassments, disappointments and by petty annoyances. Sean Power, raquel Cassidy and Tony Gardner also celebrity. The very first series of six episodes had been aired on BBC Four in 2006, with the very first event. Repeats of the show were conducted on BBC 2 and BBC H D, bringing it to a bigger crowd. Another set of eight episodes aired on BBC 2 in November 2007, and also a third show began airing in November 2008. A fourth and last show began broadcast on BBC 2 May 2011 on 31 July and stopped on 5.
Comparisons were produced by critics to the successful American humor Curb Your Enthusiasm, along with favorable comments were made about the characters, specially Magda, the Eastern housekeeper of Balloon. The first show was released on DVD at November 2007. The show's theme tune is actually a cover version of"One Way Road", written by Noel Gallagher and played with Paul Weller.
