Invisible Heroes
Invisible Heroes tells the story of the brave actions of a group of young Finnish diplomats in Chile during the notorious military coup of 1973. Tapani Brotherus, Ilkka Jaamala, and Tapani's wife, Lysa Brotherus, were diplomats from Finland. They helped more than 2,000 left-leaning Chileans escape the military junta's persecution. The Finns acted without official permission, while Swedish ambassador Harald Edelstam was the most visible defender of human rights, with the support of Sweden's Prime Minister Olof Palme.
