Heartland
Heartland was a Australian television drama series that ran at 1994 in the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. It ran to ten episodes and starred Ernie Dingo and Cate Blanchett. The series was known as Burned Bridge in a few nations.
Heartland addresses the puzzle surrounding the death of an undercover girl along with the doubts concerning the guilt of her boyfriend, who is arrested for the murder. It is also a love story of the people their relationship must survive hostility from the white and black communities as well as the barriers of attitudes the backgrounds and cultures. Plot elements revolve round Elizabeth Ashton, a writer coming in a small coastal community's personality. A level of suspicion is different towards the newcomer who is oblivious of any underlying racial anxieties. This lets her to befriend local Aborigine Vincent Burunga. Into this mixture is the police Phil McCarthy who seeks Ashton's affections whilst being aggressive to her friendship using Burunga, maybe not as a suitor, but because of racial prejudice.
