Davy Crockett

Davy Crockett is actually just a five-part sequential that aired in one-hour episodes around the Disneyland series on ABC. The series stars Fess Parker as Buddy Ebsen and frontiersman Davy Crockett as his friend, George Russel. The first three episodes of this serial were edited together whilst the 1955 theatrical picture Davy Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier, also rebroadcast in color. This series and film are famous for the catchy theme song,"The Ballad of Davy Crockett". It had been filmed in color at the Great Smoky Mountains National Park at the Mountain Farm Museum adjacent to the visitor center at Janss Conejo Ranch and Oconaluftee close the entry of Qualla Reservation. The final two episodes were edited together as the 1956 film Davy Crockett and the River Pirates. It was filmed in Cave-In-Rock, Illinois.
