Weathering with You

Rain showers are happening right now in Tokyo, and they seem to be slowing everyone down a lot. In the middle of what seems like an endless rainstorm, high school dropout Hodaka Morishima shows up. He struggles to make money and gets a job at a small-time publisher. Hina Amano, who is an orphan, is also trying to find work to support herself and her younger brother. When Hodaka tries to save Hina from some bad guys, they decide to run away together. Then, Hodaka finds out that Hina has a strange but amazing power: she can pray for the sun and it will come out. With Tokyo's strange weather in mind, Hodaka can see how this skill could be useful. He says that Hina should become a "sunshine girl"—someone who will clear the sky for people when they need it the most. At first, things start to look up for them. But everyone knows that power always comes with a high cost...
