Vatel
With war brewing with Holland, in 1671, a penniless prince invites Louis XIV to about three days of celebrations at a chateau at Chantilly. The prince needs a commission because a general, hence the extravagances would be to impress the king. May be Vatel, the steward, a man of very low arrival, and honour, gift. The prince is craven in his longing for stature: no task is dishonorable or too menial for him to give Vatel. He finds himself interested in Anne de Montausier while Vatel tries to sustain faith. In Vatel, she finds some one who's authentic, living his fundamentals out over the cruelties of court politics. Can the 2 of these escape ?
