The Painter and the Thief

When two of artist Barbora Kysilkova's most valuable paintings are stolen from a gallery in Oslo's Frogner neighborhood, the police quickly apprehend the culprit, but the paintings are nowhere to be seen. Barbora attends the trial in the goal of gaining information, but instead ends up asking the thief for permission to paint a portrait of him. This will mark the beginning of an extraordinary friendship. Over the course of three years, the cinematic documentary chronicles the extraordinary story of an artist searching for her stolen paintings while also transforming the burglar into art.
