The North Star

The North Star tells the story of two slaves named Benjamin "Big Ben" Jones and Moses Hopkins who fled from a Virginia plantation and found freedom in Buckingham, Pennsylvania in 1849. Big Ben's 6 foot 10 inch stature and a record bounty for his safe return make him the target of every east coast slave hunter. Their voyage exposes them to danger and cruelty, but it also exposes them to the Underground Railroad's unanticipated benevolence. Ben and Moses will be eternally changed as a result of their experiences. Ben and Moses get to experience life as free men after reaching the relative safety of Mt. Gilead Church on Buckingham Mountain, where they meet historical personalities including Frederick Douglass, Harriet Tubman, Joshua, and Jonathan Fell. Their independence also gives them the opportunity to experience valor, passion, and treachery. LuckPig Studios penned the script.
