The Final Countdown

The US Navy warship, the USS Nimitz, is caught during regular maneuvers from the Pacific in a storm. Enveloped by a strange light that is green, the boat passes through a vortex so when they emerge, their communications have been cut off. The Captain of the ship sends a patrol and the f14 pilots have been somewhat stunned to encounter vintage Japanese warplanes.
