Testament of Orpheus
Poetry is an experience that takes place outside of time and reality. Oedipus and the Sphinx seduce the poet, Heurtebise and the Princess scold him, Pallas Athena's mansion, the Goddess's spear that pierces his heart, the escape of Oedipus, and the Assumption. Testament of Orpheus is part of Cocteau's Orphic Trilogy, which includes The Blood of a Poet, Orpheus (1950), and The Blood of a Poet (1960).
