Salesman

Albert and David Maysles' documentary chronicles the intense rivalry between four door-to-door salesmen employed by the Mid-American Bible Company: Paul "The Badger" Brennan, Charles "The Gipper" McDevitt, James "The Rabbit" Baker, and Raymond "The Bull" Martos. This hard-living quartet spends their days traveling through small-town America, attempting to sell gold-leaf Bibles to an uninterested population of lower-middle-class housewives and elderly couples.
