Roald Dahl's Esio Trot

Mr. Hoppy is just a timid older man who lives alone in an apartment building. For so a long time, he was secretly in love with Mrs. Silver, a woman who resides underneath him. Mr. Hoppy often leans across his balcony and exchanges polite talk with Mrs. Silver, however he's too timid to reveal how he believes. Mr. Hoppy longs to express his feelings to Mrs. Silver, however they can never bring his lips to form the exact language. Mrs. Silver has a little pet tortoise, Alfie, whom she loves very much. One morning, Mrs. Silver cites to Mr. Hoppy that although she's received Alfie for a lot of years, her furry friend has just grown a very small bit, and it contains gained just 3 oz in weight. She confesses that she wants she knew to make her Alfie grown into a larger, more dignified tortoise. Mr. Hoppy unexpectedly thinks of a way to provide Mrs. Silver her wish and then win her affection.
