Pray for Rain

When Emma Gardner, a whip smart NYC reporter sees of her dad's untimely death, she returns to her hometown to find that the idyllic farming community of her childhood was ravaged by drought, and it has become a spot jaded by gangs and also the ill effects of poverty. She figures out that the accidental death of her dad wasn't casual at all. The lists of possible suspects comprise different farmers envious of the outstanding reputation of her father, a warlord and greedy environmentalists.
