Black Orpheus
Orfeu and Eurydice, young lovers on the run from a hitman dressed as Death and Orfeu's spiteful fiancée Mira, traverse the favelas of Rio de Janeiro during Carnaval, traveling between periods of fantasy and grim reality. With a soundtrack by young Brazilian composers Luiz Bonfá and Antonio Carlos Jobim, this impressionistic version of the Greek legend of Orpheus and Eurydice brought bossa nova to the world.
